[On Friday morning, the second Friday for the Thanatos Institute apprentices in the tower, the outside sun rises and spreads its light through the arrow slit windows in the tower’s stone walls. People rise from their beds, some earlier risers than others, and shuffle along to begin their day.

Things are quiet, even with the lowkey air of anxiety that’s lingered since Tuesday when the Alchemist made his offer and Bryn attacked Bruno with an animalistic fervor. It’s probably fine, this hanging silence in the air.

[Nobody is probably feeling breakfast right now but...]

[ Joke's on you, Bryn has no tact!! She's crunching on a breakfast bar as she peers around curiously, somewhere between alarmed and kind of resigned. Really, she's surprised it took this long for someone to drop dead.

What's fucky in the kitchen? ]

[Obvious kitchen fuckery seems to be at a minimum. Nothing really seems too out of place at first glance.

Maybe try poking around cabinets, you might find a fake head or something.]

[ Well with a bit of mod narration that ominous, how can I resist!

She'll nose around the cabinets for anything out of place, her compact at the ready to get any snapshots she needs. ]

[Clever girl, using the compact!

One of the cabinets is stocked with cups, mugs, and a few of the fancier glasses like crystal goblets, wine glasses and champagne flutes, just in case someone wants to feel a little formal. They all seem to be in neat sets of four.

It looks like two wine glasses are missing.]

[ ... Hhhhuh. Does it look like they were just taken out to be used, or were they broken?

While she's on that, is there any trace of what might have been used to fill them around the kitchen? Or just, any mess that might point towards what happened here? ]

[There doesn't seem to be any broken glass in the kitchen but if something had broken it'd make sense to throw it away.

As for what they could have been for, Azul did find a bottle of wine left out on the counter.]

[ Time to check in the bins like a weird little dumpster diving rat, babey!! ]

[How deep is she digging in the trash? Are we talking opening the lid and looking in or full elbow-deep feral rat girl?]

[ Oh we're going FULL ELBOW DEEP!!!! If she has to go face first into the trash to find evidence then that's just what's gonna end up happening. ]

[Lucky for Bryn and her Face First Garbage etiquette, there's no glass in there! There are, however, many small candy wrappers that have been shoved down deep in there.]

[ NOW WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE!!! She emerges from the trash with her evidence in hand and immediately takes to inspecting them. She's been eating pretty much exclusively out of the storage room these past two weeks, so she's pretty familiar with the stock in there – what kind are these? Is there anything out of the ordinary about them? ]

[Nothing roo out of the ordinary aside from the number of them- there's a lot.

Since she's familiar with the storage room, she would recognize these! They're just little sweets that come in a variety of fruit flavors. In particular there are quite a few strawberry wrappers.]

[ Azul had gone to the Library after the announcement, but decided that he'll let the other people handle the crime scene for the moment after everything got too nuclear. However! Seeing that wine glass made him want to check the kitchen.

Anything particularly sus with the wine or glasses? ]

[Excellent eye, my guy.

Sitting out on the counter there's an open bottle of Rockport Signature Wine(™).]

[ An open bottle- interesting. He'll take a picture of it with his transmitter as it is on the counter.

When he goes over to inspect it, he lifts it up with a cloth! Is the bottle empty? ]

[The bottle is about half-full!]

[ Alright, cool! Azul will also take out his wand and do a little incantation to check if the wine might be tampered with in some fashion. He works with food, so I'm sure he's done this a few times. ]

[Clever. The wine is untampered with.]

[ Good, good! He'll put the wine down back where it was again before looking around. He's checking for two things: a cork/lid to the wine, but also just checking the racks and area for a place where a missing knife would perhaps go. ]

[arsholes]

[The cork is just laying near the edge of the counter, not too far from bottle.

As for the knife, there isn't a knife block anywhere in here but there is a knife drawer.]

[ Gotcha! He'll at least put the cork back on the bottle now.

Aha! He will definitely slide the drawer open with a wave of his wand. ]

[The drawer pops open instantly! Inside there is a neat line of knives of varying sizes and uses.

A single carving knife is missing.]

[ Maaaan, he cooks with the knives!!! SMH. ]
