[Well! That sure did happen!

Bruno does not organize an afterparty. He's not a party organizer in general - that was Wu. But he knows he was completely useless, if not downright actively unhelpful, during that whole thing, and he already feels guilty enough. He has to be useful somehow. Otherwise, why's he even here? 

So, before everyone can leave the teleportation circle in the dining room and all go their own separate ways, Bruno mumbles something about making food and takes off for the kitchen. He'll be there for a couple of hours, whipping up some quick chicken sancocho, with Olive on rice duty. Azul can be in charge of actually grabbing people and bringing them in - god forbid Bruno do anything like that - but if anyone does happen to be there to take one, he'll make them up a bowl. Otherwise, he's just gonna leave it all warming on the stove. 

There's also some arroz con leche simmering for later, if anybody wants dessert! He'll put cinnamon in it, and then add some hot chocolate to the lineup as well. He's no Julieta, of course, but at least he's made something? It's not enough, but it's...something.]

[ A pause. And then Patchouli sloooooooowly gets herself up into a sitting position. It takes...a bit of time. Give her a moment.

Once she's up, she wheezes a little. ]

...yes. Very much so.

[Okay, that's... more than a bit concerning, actually, and he frowns, looking as though he's debating putting the cup down.]

Are you all right? If you need me to go look for some medicine...

No, as it is, I'm in rather ill health. [ a sigh ] It's nothing immediately dangerous, however. I doubt this place has anything that would help, but the offer is appreciated.

I see... I'm sorry.

[Ah, right. The tea. He offers her the cup, wanting to be sure she has a solid grip on it before he lets go.]

Hopefully this will at least help you to feel a bit better-- I'm sure using all of that magic earlier didn't help if your magic works at all the same way the kind from my world does.

Six of one, a half-dozen of the other. I'm naturally rather infirm, even if I don't cast three spells in a row. The casting certainly didn't help.

Much like someone I know back home. I can only imagine how difficult it must make things when your particular talents lie in the field of magic. And there are no spells or charms that can help lessen the effects?

On the contrary, it would be more difficult if my talents were physical. I cannot see myself able to pick up any sort of weapon. I'm rather lucky that I only need to cast.

There aren't, no. I've no real talent with strengthening magic.

[ It's annoying that she gets worn out so easily, but she's learned to live with it. ]

It would seem our talents are the exact opposite of each other-- I have no ability to use magic of my own. I'm quite familiar with physical combat, however, as you saw earlier.

Are you the Baldr, or were you simply named after him? Present company requires me to ask, actually.

[He blinks, tilting his head quizzically.]

It isn't an uncommon name where I'm from, but I wasn't aware it had any particular reputation attached to it. Might I ask as to what this other Baldr is known for?

Baldr is a god in the Germanic and Norse pantheons, patron of...let's see...light, wisdom, and courage, I believe.

He had a reputation as a kind and fair deity who was widely liked, and had a sort of immortality about him granted by his mother. There was a small loophole, though, and it ended up being his downfall. His death was one of the factors that lead to Ragnarök, the cataclysmic event that would lead to the end of the Age of the Gods, and the rebirth of the world after the great flood.
