[On Sunday morning, there is a small gift waiting for the early risers in the tower: an iron key, dangling from a length of twine tied to the wooden beam across the ceiling at the cross section of the four dorms. Upon further inspection it has a particular symbol on the back half and a note that reads "Well done back there. Here's your reward. - The Alchemist". The key goes to the front doors, where there is the same symbol etched above the keyhole on the lock.

Bad news, two people are dead. :( Good news, you've gained outside privileges. :)

But even with the addition of sunshine and a not-so-safe lake, the tower is still a little quieter, the air a little heavier and the mood a lot more somber.]

It's marihuana. Leaving aside it's illegal, the place we're in may be the worst place for anyone to be clouding their judgment.

[Maybe the Alchemist left these so people would smoke it and get killed more easily!

[Loki reaches over Katsuya and his tape line to pluck a leaf off the stem.]

Do you normally eat it? Doesn't smell all that appetizing.

It's meant to be smoked, most of the time. According to a book the Alchemist sent me, there are medicinal purposes as well, but I doubt any of them can he used in this place.

[The Alchemist was not amused when Katsuya added more charges to his nagging. The Alchemist has done a lot of bad things, but who deserves to have Katsuya scold you on an almost daily basis?]

Why couldn't they be? [Bruno can teach him how to smoke this, right? He'd mentioned trying it before...]

If I'm not mistaken they need some processing before that can happen, at least going from what I read. It's too specialized for us to try. It'd be like trying to make good wine somewhere in this academy!

[Nobody will try to make moonshine or wine or anything like that, right?]

It isn't exactly a specialty of mine, but it was part of my broader magical studies.

Weird to think studying magic is normal for many here. I still can't wrap my head around any of this.

But you have abilities of your own, correct? How did you learn to use them?

I didn't really ask to have them. I gained them during a moment I and others were in serious danger, a few weeks ago. Since then it has been all improvised.

[He doesn't have the time to try to understand his powers better because Persona 2 doesn't give breaks for stuff, haha -- it's all a continuous effort, yup]
