[On Sunday morning, there is a small gift waiting for the early risers in the tower: a gold key, dangling from a length of twine tied to the wooden beam across the ceiling at the cross section of the four dorms. Upon further inspection it has a particular symbol on the back half and a note that reads "Good job. Here's your reward". The note is signed Heisenberg. The key goes to seventh floor, where there is the same symbol etched above the keyhole on the lock.

Another new floor, another pair of deaths and their numbers halved in a matter of weeks. Things can't go on like this much longer.]

...I can't...deny if for some reason I did kill someone I'd try to use it as a chance to confuse the Patron, if that's possible, but...with the Alchemist up there it's unlikely it'll work.

[Katsuya doesn't trust Heisenberg to stay quiet and let things happen, especially because Katsuya has made zero attempts to endear himself to the Alchemist and instead has needled him endlessly. He's almost certain the Alchemist would use any trial with Katsuya as a culprit as an opportunity to be petty and make things as difficult as possible for him.

Hah, yeah, he thinks that due to what the Alchemist did for Stella, judging the Alchemist would meddle with the trial if he thought he could get away with it]

Possibly. There are times when he seems mostly indifferent to our actions. Or to our interfering with the Patron.

[Still probably a little difficult, considering what the range of the Patron's ability to observe them seems to be. Nuadha lets out a quiet huff.]

It may have been... uncustomary optimism on my part. The idea that someone had a plan of any kind to deal with him was welcome.

[Although Katsuya had definitely left some interesting implications in that regard during the trial. But he won't press on those just yet.]

Making plans would be far easier if one had any idea what the end result would be...not that it should be a deterrent. The situation has gotten bad enough to need some drastic measures.

[Even if they succeed at any plans, then what? True, Katsuya may have a plan, but even though he's going ahead with it he has absolutely no certainty it'll work.

Or that he even will be alive to see it come to fruition. He could die at any moment, victim to someone's murder plan]

[Not that there's anywhere here Nuadha is certain they can't be overheard. He grimaces a little at the thought.]

Information about everyone's skill with weaponry would be enough. I already have a general idea or what everyone can do, but if there's anything like advantages with certain kinds of weapons, it'd be good to know about that.

[Nuadha seems like someone who may be good for getting that kind of information, at least more than Katsuya, he judges]

[He looks obscurely a little pleased about that, actually. He lifts the fireworks and smiles a little at Katsuya.]

Should we take these closer to the water? I don't know how likely they are to set anything else alight, but...

[He even bows to Nuadha, grateful. Katsuya knows very well he himself is not all that easy to get along with, and his relationships with a few here suffered because of that. Still, he's glad he has people to count on, to cover what he can't do]

Better to light them up away from the tower. The tower won't fall apart if it's hit by a firework, but that will be hard to explain anyway. We'll be treated as if we're reckless idiots.

[Nuadha nods back in acknowledgment, entirely content. Having a concrete task to turn his mind to is welcome in the circumstances.]

Who would-- never mind. I can readily imagine King Somnus or Felix's reactions.

[And heaven forbid anyone take either of them for reckless idiots. Nuadha snorts softly and heads towards the beach, fireworks in tow.]

The view will be better by the lake, anyway.
