week 1

[Yesterday was, to say the least, an eventful time. 21 people waking up in an alarming kidnapping situation, tempers got heated, salt was thrown, the usual flavor of shenanigans.

Your Alchemist made his appearance, got into several arguments, scruffed a teen and nailed a god. All in all, a productive time! It doesn’t seem like he’ll be making any more public appearances this week but he did say to give him a call.

If you don't want to converse with the Alchemist, there's a whole tower to explore! Check out all the dusty nooks and crannies, read some smutty literature, try to build a death ray, take a cozy bath- the Montessori method of learning. Curiously, starting on Monday there are mysterious leaflet catalogs scattered in several rooms of the tower. There’s no shop name on it, but there are pictures of a variety of fun and fanciful items, just a preview of the many rare and/or exotic goods you could get from one of the shop's Grand Opening Sale blind boxes. There is also a large wooden chest that has appeared in the Entrance Hall right next to the grand entrance doors, despite the fact that they remain locked. A locked mailbox hangs on the wall above the box, along with several envelopes. The mailbox says "CATALOG ORDERS", and there is a handwritten note that adds: "Write your name on the envelope as well as your order. INCLUDE PAYMENT, or it's no deal. <3"

In related news, many of you will also be receiving mysterious gold coins on top of your trunk – maybe this is the payment referenced?

(( OOC: This will be the last mod post for this week! Feel free to start submitting catalog orders for any threads that aren't with the Alchemist. This is a peace week, so get all that CR while you can! ))
amitiesbind: never be the same again (🔥 do you understand that we will)

Um... well, I think there's a series and this isn't the first one, which is weird, but I'll take what I can get.

[ She shrugs. ]

It's okay. If you're big on giant murder crabs, it doesn't disappoint so far.

I cannot say I am. They make for disappointingly simple prey.
amitiesbind: (🔥 always said I had a way with words)

You have- no, that makes sense. It's probably less weird of a book if you actually have giant crabs that can go on a rampage.

I believe there is still one rampaging in La Noscea now. It was also much larger than that, so if anything I find the specimen on the cover rather underwhelming.
amitiesbind: when loneliness came (i read them all in one day)

Yeah, the biggest crab I've ever seen was about... this big?

[ indicates about nine inches or so with her hands - you know, normal eatin' crab size. ]

Those are common as well. And then there are those the size of a man. And one about...

[he thinks about it. Glances up, as he visualizes it.]

...The size of a small building, perhaps?
amitiesbind: these are the things (🔥 and we sure as hell have nothing now)

That... is a big crab, yeah. Pretty sure if we have those, they don't exactly make themselves known on land.

I imagine they might be more challenging to face in the seas.

...Hm. Something to think about.

[He's not not making crab fighting plans.]
amitiesbind: (something we just have to settle for)

No... offense, I guess? But that's a surprising dedication to the idea of fighting giant crabs for someone who doesn't care if he gets home.

[ ah, the joys of Learning About Zenos ]

I enjoy a challenge.

[and like

nothing else!]
amitiesbind: and you were the rock (i was the match)

[personal profile] amitiesbind 2022-03-29 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Can't argue that it wouldn't be challenging.

[ couldn't be her but my man you do you ]

Good luck if we make it out of here, I guess.

I have no need of luck. I will win, that much is a foregone conclusion.

[ ... ]

Okay, I'll bite - how would you go about fighting a giant crab in the ocean?
philomachy: (005)

the things I have to think about in rp

[personal profile] philomachy 2022-03-30 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Fighting it from behind would make things easier, I imagine, but there is no sport in that. Going for the joints first and getting rid of the claws would be a good method.

Finding purchase underwater makes things more difficult, but I have plenty of tricks to work around that.
