Week 2 Monday Night Pajama Party!!

[HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE PAJAMA PARTY! They’ve really gone all out here, because the tables have all been pushed up to the wall (thank you, Finn) to make room on the floor for pillows and blankets and some cushions, too. There’s also streamers and other decorations hung up for a party-type atmosphere, as well as nice quality baijuand plum wine chilled and set out along with glasses for consumption. Next to that, there’s a variety of hors d’oeuvres to be noshed on, along with whatever anyone else has brought. There’s several balls of light floating around, courtesy of Stella, to give the place a nice, cozy glow.

Feel free to make yourself comfortable, grab some hors d’oeuvres and something to drink, and settle in for some sleepover activities or just sitting around and mingling. If you’ve brought something for the party, you can add it to the list here, or if there’s a game or an activity you’d like to host, feel free to add it on to this top level and it’ll get added to the navigation! [Ah, well - it's pretty easy to deflate Bruno's excitement. He cringes.]

I didn't mean to actually scare anyone...

[He never did. And yet it's always happened anyway. Bruno accepts the arm around his shoulders with a bit of a surprised blink, but he's already too distracted by the old familiar criticisms brewing in his head.]

She's right, I should have known better. This is exactly why they tell all those stories about me in the village. [Maybe not all of why, but it's possible he's done a few things over the years that didn't quite help.]

[Loki gives his shoulder a squeeze.]

They are close-minded fools who could not see the value in your gift. Do not let their opinions make you think you are less than you are.

[Bruno still looks upset, worrying at the edge of his sleeve until Rosa wriggles beneath his hand to be pet instead. It's...nice, though, to have someone there to say things like that. Mirabel has, recently, but for so long before that there wasn't anyone.]

[He hopes that wasn't the start of a reputation here, though. Wordlessly, he knocks out a pattern on the nearest bit of wood, ending with one on his head.]

Oh, come now, you were wonderful. What on earth is the point of getting together for ghost stories if you are simply going to criticize a masterful performance?

[Bruno manages a faint smile at the praise, though it's still pretty strained. He gets praise so rarely, though, gotta appreciate it when you can.]

I...might've gone a little overboard in the past before, too.

Artists are always shunned in their time. It is horrible, truly.

Oh, I'm not really an artist. I just do stuff for...myself, these days.

Hmph. Well, if you have been given any reason to keep to yourself, I do believe you should disregard those.

[Stella just kind of huffs, then picks herself up off the floor. She pours herself a glass of punch. Then she heads out of the great hall.

She’ll be back later, but right now? She’s being a dramatic princess type.]

[Loki was going to let her storm out, but Bruno was already distressed by her reaction, so he decides to follow, hoping it would give some comfort to his new friend.

A glass of wine appears in his hand as he goes into the hall.]

You really aren't a fan of scary stories, are you?

It’s not the stories. If it were the stories, I wouldn’t have let Wu set them up. [She’s got her back turned to him, and keeps on snapping her fingers. Again. and Again.]

Stories aren’t scary. They’re just stories.

You certainly seemed frightened at the time. [His eyebrows draw together.]

It wasn't the story. [Her voice is harsh, and she turns, meaning to glare at him. It doesn't come through as a proper glare. There's too much anxiety to it.]

[Loki closes a bit more distance, just enough that he can reach out and place a hand over hers.]

If you're trying to produce more light, it won't happen while you're this wound up. [His voice is surprisingly soft. He tries to adopt the tone he remembers Frigga taking with him when he was young and struggling to control his magic.]

You need to breath.
