Week 2 Monday Night Pajama Party!!
[HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE PAJAMA PARTY! They’ve really gone all out here, because the tables have all been pushed up to the wall (thank you, Finn) to make room on the floor for pillows and blankets and some cushions, too. There’s also streamers and other decorations hung up for a party-type atmosphere, as well as nice quality baijuand plum wine chilled and set out along with glasses for consumption. Next to that, there’s a variety of hors d’oeuvres to be noshed on, along with whatever anyone else has brought. There’s several balls of light floating around, courtesy of Stella, to give the place a nice, cozy glow.
Feel free to make yourself comfortable, grab some hors d’oeuvres and something to drink, and settle in for some sleepover activities or just sitting around and mingling. If you’ve brought something for the party, you can add it to the list here, or if there’s a game or an activity you’d like to host, feel free to add it on to this top level and it’ll get added to the navigation! The pajama party is your oyster~]

[ He says, not moving to take any. Felix has partook in the food but hardly has touched any of the drinks. ]
What do you think of the party?
no subject
Foolish. And loud. ...But I can see some value in a diversion to keep everyone occupied. The time will pass more quickly.
[He doesn't even sound that grumpy about it at the moment. Thanks, wine.]
And you?
no subject
It looks like we're in agreement.
[ He takes a sip. ]
I'm sure after this everyone will be more calm as well. Easier to deal with.
no subject
Likely. Even if it's necessary to do this again before the one month term expires, it seems a reasonable enough exchange.
no subject
That is not to say he doesn't at times welcome challenging viewpoints, but he does know with how he is it can be difficult. Not that he lets that stop him any. As he thinks these things, he takes another sip. ]
I think so too.
Not to mention, more people brought more decent snacks than I'd expect. And it is less irritating than most parties back home.
no subject
I didn't take you for a partying type yourself. The only ones I've been to in recent memory are my younger sister's pajama parties, to supervise. There are... considerably fewer monsters at this one.
[It probably isn't logical to sound wistful about a monster party, but this is where he is in his life.]
no subject
You'd be right to assume I'm not, even if I'm still familiar with them since they're something I've needed to attend.
[ The life of a noble and all. Not that Felix does much at them except wallflower or glare people away when he's not talking to the few friends that he has. ]
...But, I'm curious. I've never heard of monsters at a party. Is it much wilder with such creatures roaming about?
no subject
They're common in most worlds I'd heard of before this. In peace times a country's knights would usually keep them in check. [And in times of less peace, well. Nuadha gives a shrug; remembering Felix's title from the profiles, he expects he follows the logic simply enough.]
...Although in our circumstances, it's because Mercuria's friend invites them. Does your world not have such?
[Monsters, or teenage girls that insist on bringing them to pajama parties, Felix can take his pick.]
no subject
If you tried that with any 'monsters', you'd just be asking for blood to be spilt.
[ So, Felix is having a hard time imagining a party with monsters partying and such, without causing trouble, of course. Then again he is also imagining Demonic Beasts for the most part when he says monster, so...yeah. ]
I'm guessing the monsters in your world can communicate? In actual words and not growling of some sort, that is.
no subject
[The free-flowing thought association from the wine is certainly cutting in both directions this time. Nuadha hides a small grimace in the glass as he takes the longer drink that that recollection warrants.]
They're generally similar to dangerous animals. Growling is about the extent of it. Arietta has a unique affinity for them. ...I would say it makes those parties even louder than this one, though.
no subject
[ Yeah, this is fine...seems normal to Felix, who just takes another sip casually. It's all good, they've got it all together here. ]
Wait...wait, if they can't talk, why are they at the parties?
no subject
[He's just... going to sheepishly drink some more, to stifle the rambling exasperated-fond big brother complaints. It's surprisingly hard to get off this mental tangent now that he's on it.]
What were parties back home like for you, then?
[He urgently needs Felix to talk more to at least temporarily shut himself up.]
no subject
[ Felix doesn't seem to judge, at any rate. Though, it does strike him as odd, he doesn't seem to think too hard about it. The wine he's sipping can be blamed for that. ]
Ugh, they are stifling. There was always some fool trying to suck up or make banal conversation about some other nonsense. About who did what and where.
I had neither the time nor patience to entertain any such fool and I was unafraid to remind them so. But, people tend to get short memory and think that I would eventually become soft enough to become like them. Hah! Not a chance.
no subject
[Or he was quite a good swordmaster. Which is also a thought Nuadha appreciates. The turn of the conversation has him relaxing into the warm haze of the wine again.]
Hmm. Parties of that kind sound the same everywhere. But they're an obligation.
no subject
No one would dare.
[ Yeah, the wine is getting to him, especially since he looks far too satisfied to lay that out. ]
Hah. Obligation...
You know what should be an obligation? For useless nobles to shut up.
no subject
...An honest advisor is an indispensable asset to a king. King Dimitri must value you greatly.
[The thought makes him glance aside just a little, to see if he can catch where Baldr wandered off to.]
no subject
You're correct.
[ He'll say simply, but he will catch the other man's glance all the same. Even like this, he can manage something as simple as that. ]
Who are you looking for?
no subject
[It's hard to sound completely dry when he's feeling this warm and slightly... fuzzy.]
no subject
He's blunt to you?
no subject
[Otherwise, the forms of passive aggression enabled by extremely formal politeness are an artform. Also Nuadha is now catching himself rambling again and pressing a hand to the bridge of his nose in exasperation.]
My apologies, Duke-- [Oh no. Oh no he's read this in the profiles. He can definitely do this.] F... [Nope, this isn't happening.] ...Felix. I'm not ordinarily so... [Whatever the hell this is.]
no subject
[ Felix's head is swimming in the very same manner Nuadha's happens to be, and it's one of the only things he can say that sounds like it makes sense now.
Anything else seems like it's almost out of reach and he feels a little sleepy. ]
...Let's sit down.
no subject
[And after all, it's a pajama party. There are blankets and cushions conveniently enough nearby. Nuadha nods in their direction and heads that way, his steps meticulously careful.]
It isn't that I'm drunk.
[A little sidelong glance at Felix to confirm his dignity is intact here. Surely neither of them is drunk, so it's fine.]
