[On Sunday morning, there is a small gift waiting for the early risers in the tower: a dull lead key (don't lick it), dangling from a length of twine tied to the wooden beam across the ceiling at the cross section of the four dorms. Upon further inspection it has a particular symbol on the back half and a note that reads "Good job. Here's your reward". The note is signed Lord H. The key goes to sixth floor, where there is the same symbol etched above the keyhole on the lock.

The new floor is even more grand than the previous ballroom, a full theatre for their enjoyment. But it doesn't take away the burning sting of certain people who would have loved to see it.]

[He takes twenty paces and turns, holding out his hand. The hammer rises up and flies into his outstretched hand, but also a sheet of metal flies in front of his shins to take the water whip for him.

He holds his hand forward, and the air vibrates with magnetic energy as he flings the sheet of metal toward her, also an easy move to sidestep.]

[ Patchouli doesn't dodge it--rather, she holds out her hand and clenches it into a fist, concentrating her metal magic into crumpling the sheet into a ball and letting it drop to the floor in front of her. There, she thinks. One down, nine to go. ]

Wood Sign "Kodama of the Willows"!

[ Her magic sigil materializes under her feet before the wooden floor of the ballroom begins to vibrate--and a handful of trees sprout out, vines and roots reaching for him, trying to grab onto his arms, legs, hammer. ]

Very interesting! I doubt that's gonna buff out.

[He's grinning like a madman. The first vines he skips over, the next grab his wrists. But he's as slippery as an electric ray, and with a tilt of his head the magnetic field around him ripples again and a thin sliver of metal flies to him, slicing the vine around his wrists so that he can break through it with brute strength.

The ball of metal at her feet flies back toward him, its magnetic properties unchanged by the change in form.]

Batter up!

[Heisenberg swings his hammer, connecting loudly, solid metal on solid metal. Sparks rain down on the vines and begin to catch and make them smolder. The ball of metal itself, now compacted by the blow of the hammer and engulfed in sparks and flame, flies back toward Patchouli at a much faster speed, tearing through the trunk of one of her trees in its way.]

[ If she went into this fight with the mindset of dodging, this may have been easier. That's the only real way to win danmaku duels, dodging and pure skill. But she didn't, dodging only crosses her mind at the last second. Patchouli tries to get a grip on the metal ball, using her magic to slow it down, intending to have it stopped before it hits her. The sheer force of his pitching throws her off; she can only reduce its speed as it slams against the shield she tosses up in front of her at the last second. The impact sends Patchouli skidding back a few feet, and she pauses, trying to catch her breath before she tries another spell.

She has to put these little fires out before they become a bigger problem. ]

Water Sign "Princess Undine"!

[ Water materializes around the room and falls on the sparks and fires, a cold watery blast aiming itself at him. ]

[His grin becomes a little more wolfish, when she has to actually summon a shield to block his attack.

Instead of trying to block or dodge the watery blast, what Heisenberg does is slam his hammer into the hardwood floor (seriously, RIP...), anchors himself to it by molding shards of metal over his hands and around the handle, and simply rides out the waterfall.]

[ Patchouli takes a breath and ends up wheezing a little. Okay. He was a lot tougher than she thought he would end up being. Ah, hubris.

There's no proper spell from her for the time being, but she does call up her floating grimoire, its pages rustling in anticipation of casting its own spell. ]

Gh...

[ Patchouli raises a hand, something white and crystalline forming around her.

She doesn't cast it. Not yet. ]
