week 6
[On Sunday morning, there is a small gift waiting for the early risers in the tower: a dull lead key (don't lick it), dangling from a length of twine tied to the wooden beam across the ceiling at the cross section of the four dorms. Upon further inspection it has a particular symbol on the back half and a note that reads "Good job. Here's your reward". The note is signed Lord H. The key goes to sixth floor, where there is the same symbol etched above the keyhole on the lock.
The new floor is even more grand than the previous ballroom, a full theatre for their enjoyment. But it doesn't take away the burning sting of certain people who would have loved to see it.]

[Okay, he's not taking any more chances with her standing on her own feet. He's going unceremoniously for the princess carry, she's been recategorized together with drunk Baldr.]

[She stares as he picks her up, face heating up, possibly once again wondering how she gets into these situations.]
Where are we going?
no subject
[He'll pick a random one if he must but that seems a little rude! Up the stairs they go. What a good thing it takes a little longer for a single gummy to take effect.]

[She holds on, pouting a little. What he finds in Abjuration (aside from all the clutter, exacerbated by that bed Wu ordered weeks ago taking up most of the space) is the Long Familiar, coiled around one of the bedposts on a top bunk and making chicken noises.]
See? Mari-chan isn't a ghost. Hi, Mari-chan!
Hiiii.

Why is it so long?
[Yes, this is somehow much worse than the one he has stuffed in a trunk. He picks his way around the clutter and then sort of eyes how he's supposed to get her to the top.]

[She reaches out and pets it, and it makes a happy noise.]
I don't know why it confuses people, either.

[Nuadha lifts her up a little more and then, perhaps, thinks better of attempting to heft her into her bed full overhead.]
...Do you have an objection to that bed in the middle of the room?
no subject
[Clearly she's misunderstood the question of being put on the bed for a question of the bed's existence.]
no subject
[But also, it's a little awkward. But also Nuadha can't just stand here holding Mei indefinitely.]
...Alright. Which of these beds doesn't have an owner, then.
[Please be a bottom bunk.]

[So the beds belonging to dead people doesn't matter-- you know what, he's not overthinking it. The nearest bottom bunk she pointed at it is. He puts her down carefully, then steps away to uncoil Mari-chan and present it to her.]

It's still lively in the tower, though, right? Lots of people every day. Lots of friends.
