final investigation
[It's been almost a week since Orthrus' lucky escape. Almost a week, of all calls to Heisenberg going (metaphorically) to voicemail. Almost a week, to rest and recover from the harrowing losses of the previous Friday.
It's been almost a week. And the storms are getting worse.
You know the locked door on the first floor? The one that goes into the center of the tower, right across from the great entry hall doors?
Today, there's a heavy iron key sticking out of the lock. With a familiar crest on the head.
The key is sticky with wet yellow paint, and wetter blood.]

The stairs go down about thirty feet deeper underground. The air changes slightly, gets a cold, damp, almost metallic air to it. You're under the lake now, if you had to guess.
At the bottom of the staircase is a steel door. With yellow paint on the handle.]

There's only one thing to do. Felix will go ahead of trying to open the door to see what kind of sight will lie before them. ]

Yes....the alchemical notes in these tomes are fascinating. I want to be able to read them later, when I have more time.
[ Patchouli flicks a ball of light from her fingertip, and it hovers around them. Just to give some extra light in this dank-ass basement. ]

There are two doors on each wall, and one door on the back wall.
All of the doors are closed, with heavy wooden doors and tiny barred windows.]

[ Felix will take the door to the back wall. Does it open when he tries grab the door knob/or door handle and tug? ]

As he approaches the door along the back wall, there's the sound of something stirring, within.]

. . . Hm.
He'll just unsheathe his blade a bit as he approaches. Look, he is probably being far too paranoid here but he is taking NO chances, and it is highly suspicious this stirring starts as he comes closer.
If he waits a bit does the noise get louder? ]

Everyone, stay clear and be prepared. There's something in one of those doors. And I'm about to open it.
2/2
One, he unsheathes the blade he's currently carrying completely so that he can grip it in one hand.
Two, he pulls the door open but immediately moves to the side, preparing to stab at whatever comes running out because he absolutely thinks it's something non human. If it was something more sentient, it would've started speaking by now. But clearly hasn't.
Also if this is nothing I will laugh but hey. ]
FIGHT...START!

The door is unlocked, and as he enters and his eyes adjust to the darkness, he can see why.
Four plain black body bags lay on the floor of the room. And a brown paper bag.]

Patchouli huffs and rolls up her sleeves. She'll check for nametags on the bags. If there aren't any, she'll unzip a small section of the bag closest to her. ]

Anyway, behind zipper number 1 is Prince Wu, looking only a little more waxy and pale than he was when he died.
For what it's worth, it looks like the bags were pre-numbered.]
no subject
Purely for the sake of knowing who's where, Patchouli will check the other five bags, giving them just a cursory glance to check who's in there and confirm things. ]
