Everyone is taking what happened differently. Hubert of course is no happier than the others, but he is... functioning. Fueled more by anger than grief. So he sets to work making dinner as soon as they arrive. He considers fish, but it seems tactless after Azul, so a simple dish of a vegetable broth soup ends up on the stove, with some already baked bread being warmed in the oven. Something comforting. Something he learned to make for Edelgard in their youth.

He doesn't bother with notes. The smells of food will lure those that want it. Let those that want solitude find it if they wish.

[With the last piece of evidence collected, The Alchemist- Lord Heisenberg's voice abruptly comes from everywhere and nowhere once again.]

Ready when you are. Come on up, Apprentices. You know the drill by now.

[Time to get in your weekly cardio climbing all these goddamn stairs again. Per usual, the ascension takes several minutes, with far fewer large wooden doors remaining locked than that first time. The shimmer of purple shield magic remains, blocking the apprentices from going anywhere but up.

Finally they reach the courtroom door and it opens once everyone has reached it. When they have it swings open to reveal a small set of steps, leading up to an imposing round chamber with a tapered roof. Twenty podiums stand in a circle in the center, lit brightly from below. Each podium is made of dark metal with a colored crystal matching the individual dorms enclosed on a thick glass dome on top of it. As always, greyed out portraits of the deceased have been added- Stella and Azul. Despite the...event last week, the courtroom looks back to normal.

Heisenberg is back on his scaffold, which has been repaired as if nothing happened. He has his long coat off, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and is wiping something dark blue and sticky off of his gloves, as the Apprentices file into the trial room.

What was the cephalopod's favorite math equation? Eight times 3.14 - Octo-pi.

[He puts his arms out in a kind of expectant gesture, then rolls his eyes.]

Everyone's a critic, I guess. Alright, enough squidding around. One of you is responsible for what happened to Ashengrotto, and the rest of you are here to figure out who. Better get to it.

[Having a name now to go with the mysterious Alchemist is a small consequence at the end of another week, with yet another motive dangling overhead.

Nonetheless, Friday comes. And the morning, or at least the dorms, seem quiet.

Maybe that's a good sign?]

[We have a ballroom, we get a party.

Between Olive's MP3 player and magically repaired instruments, music's on offer, and as should be no surprise if you know Mei, there's plenty of food -- most of it from the gacha (a roast chicken, two of those 82-pound wheels of cheese, both the good and bad whisky (not like she can tell the difference), some more of that Rockport wine in cherry oak and pear flavours, a lot of Bearies, and mixed nuts), but also beef, because of course.

A number of the Apprentices already have formalwear, while others mentioned obtaining some with magic or deals, but the host won't turn you away if you're not fancy enough, despite the golden ballgown she finds herself in. There aren't any party games this time around, unless someone gets bored with dancing and gossip and decides to start one... but hey, we've got all night.]

[On Sunday morning, there is a small gift waiting for the early risers in the tower: a shiny silver key, dangling from a length of twine tied to the wooden beam across the ceiling at the cross section of the four dorms. Upon further inspection it has a particular symbol on the back half and a note that reads "Your reward". The note is unsigned. The key goes to fifth floor, where there is the same symbol etched above the keyhole on the lock.

A chapel and a grand ballroom and all it cost was two lives and several burned bridges. But with this new area comes the boon of information: You know the Alchemist's face...and that he may have lost some of the good graces of his patron with his little stunt.]
