[On Sunday morning, there is a small gift waiting for the early risers in the tower: a shiny silver key, dangling from a length of twine tied to the wooden beam across the ceiling at the cross section of the four dorms. Upon further inspection it has a particular symbol on the back half and a note that reads "Your reward". The note is unsigned. The key goes to fifth floor, where there is the same symbol etched above the keyhole on the lock.

A chapel and a grand ballroom and all it cost was two lives and several burned bridges. But with this new area comes the boon of information: You know the Alchemist's face...and that he may have lost some of the good graces of his patron with his little stunt.]

[In the Great Hall there is something special waiting when the apprentices rise for the day. Although there usually aren't deliveries on Sunday, there is a massive, multi-tiered cake iced in black icing and decorated with delicate silver and gold accents.

In large cursive lettering on the bottom tier are the words "Happy Birthday, Hubert von Vestra".

[ Bryn wakes up on Sunday with a raging headache and immediately decides she doesn't want to be awake on Sunday. Her throat still feels dry and sore and overall, she feels miserable. She rolls over, intending to just go back to sleep for the rest of the day, but then she hears a whine and cracks her eye open to see Victor stood at the side of her bed. He gives another pathetic little whimper from low in his throat and Bryn stares at him for a long moment before sitting herself up and letting out a sigh. ]

Come, then. I may as well see to you.

[ After all that nonsense in the Great Hall, Bryn (and Victor) can be found outside for the whole day. Bryn's still in her PJs. Fight her about it. She's flopped out eagle-spread on the shoreline, and looks almost as if she's sleep – but if anyone approaches, she'll crack her eye open. ]

[After Hubert's impromptu birthday celebration, Mei makes her way up to the new floor with visible confusion. The chapel freaks her out enough that she immediately turns around and walks out, but the ballroom... She actually smiles a little, walking around almost in a daze. She might bump into you.

But after all that's done, she'll go to the kitchen. This time, she's making something simple enough -- curry ramen! With chunks of beef in with the vegetables, sorry to the non-meat-eaters we still have left. One-track mind, this girl.

Not one-track enough that she doesn't commit to spending the evening in the armoury attached to the training room. She's kneeling on the floor amid the weapons and has brought one (1) grapefruit that she's set down in front of her, and for good measure, she's burning a peach-scented candle.]

[Nuadha has started to turn up the kitchen in random times, not unlike a stray cat. Except that he's not actually looking to mooch food. When he sees who it is he heads directly over.]

[Loki reaches out to steady her so she doesn't fall over.]

[It takes a long time for there to be any response. Long enough, that she would be forgiven if she had started to pack up.

But then, there's the sound of feet, running past her, out of the armory.]

[So after all That, Hubert can be found in the Great Hall for a while longer, eating his cake and keeping a close eye on his pakaige. Even with the cake being much smaller than the fake, it's still amazingly rich and he seems to be enjoying it a lot- maybe he'll share?

Later he holds classes again, though he expects some of you not to attend after the trial. Still, he said he was going to do it and he's doing it. By now everyone should have their basic spells and today start Faith training!

Finally he spends the evening in the Tinkerer's Haven. He has the emerald slab Bruno gave him, looking at the image thoughtfully. Clearly he must be pondering what happened, fate and- oh... oh know he has a hammer and chisel and-

-rip to that rock, oh boy. Once he has it in smaller chunks he sets to work putting the last touches on his staff, affixing one of the cleaner shards of emerald to the top. Formulas and symbology are carefully carved then painted into the wood, and he finishes up by polishing the gemstone]

Almost perfect...

[Finally he carefully, with his gloves on to protect his skin, takes out the crest stone- holding it up to the emerald and once again alighting it with his magic. Trying to resonate the two- two stones of time, after all, should have a lot in common at their most basic levels]

[Nuadha was mostly interested in the classes for the Faith lessons, but he's diligent just the same. He might have left afterwards and then circled back to make sure he's shaken Baldr, making his approach when they don't have an audience.]

Hubert. Brynhilde agreed to help me with an experiment. Would you be interested? [And then. An awkward beat later.] ...Ah. Happy birthday.

[Bruno doesn't seem too upset to see his prophecy about to be shattered! He's done that a billion times himself. He was also at magic class earlier, by the way, so he definitely already wished Hubert a happy birthday there <3]

I assume this healing will have limits of some sort?

[Not that such a thing will dissuade him from learning, but he does want to be realistic about his prospects here.]

[Early in the morning, Bruno's in the dining hall with his small herd of rats and Chiffon. His focus seems to be mostly on distributing food to them - fruits and sweets, respectively - while he drinks his coffee. When it comes time for him to eat, though, he paces back and forth with his food like he can't figure out where to sit, before eventually leaving the area entirely. You can follow him back to the Conjuration Dorm if you want. The food in his hands, and the dog at his feet, means that he can't really shut the door behind himself too effectively, so you can see him sit down on his bed and lay his food out on some kind of little side table he's got in there.

After that's done, and he's returned his dishes to the kitchen, he goes upstairs to check out the new rooms. The ballroom's not that interesting now that he can get outside, but he lingers in the chapel. For a moment, he sits in one of the pews and clasps his hands as if in prayer.

...after a few minutes of this, he gets up abruptly and hurries out.

You can find him after this, still in the chapel, working on some kind of simple wooden frame. It's not that complicated; when it's finished, he drapes a blanket over it and shoves it in front of the creepy stained-glass window.]

There. That's better.

[He'll return to sitting after this, varying between praying and just staring up at the curtain.]

Conjuration Dorm

[There was Katsuya, cat with him, when Bruno enters with his menagerie of rodents and cake. Katsuya wastes no time in getting his cat into the carrier, whispering soothingly at her, and once he's sure it's closed properly, he sits on his bed]

I have been meaning to ask you something for a while.

Why all the rats?

[He has been seeing Bruno carry rats around for weeks and only now he's asking, apparently]

[ At some point, when Felix is exploring some of the new areas, he happens to see Bruno after he has shoved the object in front of the odd window, saying his piece. ]

[ With some days to stew, Orthrus seems... mostly recovered, though perhaps still a little off.

He explores the new floor a little in the morning, mostly confused by the ballroom. ]

What's a room like this for...?

[ He's traveled a lot all over the world, but royals and nobles he barely ever interacts with and he's certainly never been inside their castles and mansions for long. Definitely not long enough to see a ball from the inside.

Once he's done with exploring he's holed himself up in the lounge again. He's got some snacks and tea with him, and a few books from the library. Right now though he's intently reading some kind of screenplay called "Phantom of the Libretto" which has him completely engrossed.
