Week 2 Monday Night Pajama Party!!

[HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE PAJAMA PARTY! They’ve really gone all out here, because the tables have all been pushed up to the wall (thank you, Finn) to make room on the floor for pillows and blankets and some cushions, too. There’s also streamers and other decorations hung up for a party-type atmosphere, as well as nice quality baijuand plum wine chilled and set out along with glasses for consumption. Next to that, there’s a variety of hors d’oeuvres to be noshed on, along with whatever anyone else has brought. There’s several balls of light floating around, courtesy of Stella, to give the place a nice, cozy glow.

Feel free to make yourself comfortable, grab some hors d’oeuvres and something to drink, and settle in for some sleepover activities or just sitting around and mingling. If you’ve brought something for the party, you can add it to the list here, or if there’s a game or an activity you’d like to host, feel free to add it on to this top level and it’ll get added to the navigation! [Bruno goes on as if he hadn't heard.]

Maria went mad with grief. She spent the rest of her days wandering up and down the riverbanks, crying and wailing for her lost children. Her white gown grew dirty and torn, she withered away to nothing more than a skeleton -

[The torches flicker]

- and finally she died there by the river. But she was cursed for her crimes, never to move on until she had found and recovered the bones of her sons. They say her spirit wanders the shores of the river still, wailing and crying out - "Where are my babies? Has anyone seen my babies?"

[Bruno waggles his fingers dramatically again, doing a character voice - are his eyes starting to glow faintly green? From somewhere, a low mournful cry echoes around the room. It sounds almost...inhuman.]

[arsholes]

[The torches in the Great Hall go out, Stella's dancing light orbs cast eerie shadows on the walls and Bruno's face.]

[In the dim light, there's definitely something of an unearthly green glow happening here. Bruno clicks his tongue.]

It's sad, a sad thing to hear. But if you go to try and help her, she'll snatch you up too and throw you to the rapids! Unless, of course, you're a child yourself...the children, she drowns with her own two hands - playmates for her own dead sons.

[Skeletal hands reach out of the dark and grab Prince Wu, dragging him back into the shadows.]

[The light slowly come back as the wailing morphs into cackles. Loki, still clutching Wu, is laughing so hard he's almost crying.]

Yo-your faces!

I was hoping to kill a ghost.

[You ruined it, Loki. You ruined his party.]

[Bruno laughs in delight, the green glow abruptly dissipating.]

[Perhaps strangely, Somnus didn't say anything to admonish Loki like a more sensible(???) person might.]

[Actually, he was just very quiet about the whole thing.]

[No one better have just seen him jump and curse softly. He is the soul of dignity.]

[NO ONE SAW HIM JUMP SHHH but it was sure fun to watch everyone ELSE jumping too!]

That was quite an impressive trick indeed.

[Red Velvet is more than a little inebriated by this point, and he grabs on to the nearest person]

HYAAAAAA!!! Huwaaah.... S-sir Loki!!

[WU WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT so he does, in fact, let out a high-pitched shriek as he's pulled back--when Loki reappears, so does Wu, who is wincing where he stands, arms curled over his head, purple robe over his green and yellow pajamas askew and off one shoulder.

As the laughing starts, and Wu seems to realize he's not under attack, he's slowly lowering his arms, looking a bit bewildered, trying to take stock of the situation--and when he does, he's shoving himself away from Loki]

[There is a high-pitched scream, as if someone in a recording booth once had an absolutely perfect take which could never be repeated but only saved and spliced into a soundtrack at strategic points.]

[You know the one.]

[... anyway when the lights come back up, Finn's looking just a little green but he's got a sword in hand.]

Dude! I almost skronked up your guts demonslayer style, what the what?!

I assure you I could have defended myself if you had, ah, 'skronked up my guts.'

[Hubert totally misses the skeletons(?) but he is certainly chuckling through this story and accidentally(???) adding to the spooks.]
