week 6
[On Sunday morning, there is a small gift waiting for the early risers in the tower: a dull lead key (don't lick it), dangling from a length of twine tied to the wooden beam across the ceiling at the cross section of the four dorms. Upon further inspection it has a particular symbol on the back half and a note that reads "Good job. Here's your reward". The note is signed Lord H. The key goes to sixth floor, where there is the same symbol etched above the keyhole on the lock.
The new floor is even more grand than the previous ballroom, a full theatre for their enjoyment. But it doesn't take away the burning sting of certain people who would have loved to see it.]

[At least half of that is going over Nuadha's head, but he's sizing Mei up for burns with some alarm.]
That's an unfortunate thing for Garfield to put in those boxes. Or to own.

He said it was about being worthy, but I don't get it. How do you know you're worthy just by being noble? I mean, I guess that's what a lot of them think about themselves anyway.

It's fairly common. But I suppose he meant something about the powers related to his bloodline. [And phrased it, you know, like that.] It's good you aren't hurt, though.

[Nuadha's a little disoriented which of these affronts to several of his favorite people to pursue first. But also, he's frowning a little at Mei again. It's not that she's not usually talkative, but this seems a little...]

So I thought I just had to get better. But Felix-san says it happens to him all the time too, and he's an actual noble and everything.

[He is following this stream of consciousness with mixed concern and indignation.]
...I think you ought to lie down. You seem...
[What's the tactful word for whatever is going on here? He doesn't know, but he's alarmed.]

[She ponders this and flops over sideways on the car.]

[Nuadha startles and reaches to catch her by the shoulder before she can fall out, just in case.]

[Mei freezes up. She blinks at Nuadha, stares, and finally tilts her head.]
Rest but don't? Okay... Then maybe later.

[Oh no maybe he should have a medic look at her. Oh no, they don't even have a medic?]

[He holds out his hand just a little imperiously for her to lever herself up by. She doesn't look okay at all.]
no subject
[She launches herself right off the car and onto the floor. With a whimper, she shakes off the pain, grabs Nuadha's hand, and wobbles to her feet.]
Ehe...

[Okay, he's not taking any more chances with her standing on her own feet. He's going unceremoniously for the princess carry, she's been recategorized together with drunk Baldr.]
no subject
[She stares as he picks her up, face heating up, possibly once again wondering how she gets into these situations.]
Where are we going?
no subject
[He'll pick a random one if he must but that seems a little rude! Up the stairs they go. What a good thing it takes a little longer for a single gummy to take effect.]

[She holds on, pouting a little. What he finds in Abjuration (aside from all the clutter, exacerbated by that bed Wu ordered weeks ago taking up most of the space) is the Long Familiar, coiled around one of the bedposts on a top bunk and making chicken noises.]
See? Mari-chan isn't a ghost. Hi, Mari-chan!
Hiiii.
no subject
Why is it so long?
[Yes, this is somehow much worse than the one he has stuffed in a trunk. He picks his way around the clutter and then sort of eyes how he's supposed to get her to the top.]

[She reaches out and pets it, and it makes a happy noise.]
I don't know why it confuses people, either.

[Nuadha lifts her up a little more and then, perhaps, thinks better of attempting to heft her into her bed full overhead.]
...Do you have an objection to that bed in the middle of the room?
