week 2

[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

WEEKLY DEALS
1. The Cloak of Duplication - An ancient vampiric artifact, when worn it changes your appearance and voice to perfectly mimic another individual of your choosing. (You still have to sell the act, though.) [5 coins] SOLD
2. The Battle Axe of Hatred - A sick as hell electric guitar with an energy that feels like it is powered by the screaming of an ancient and evil lord- or at least once was. It has a signature on the body that simply says "Ron" and looks like it might have been written in blood. [5 coins]
3. The Jable - Put down your keys and stay a while. [2 coins]

LEFTOVER STOCK AT 50% MARK-UP
1. The Tingler - The whole hand tingles from wearing this ring, as if more blood rushes through the area. [2 coins]
2. Christine Jr. - A tiny red convertible. It's powered by pedals like a bicycle, with a steering wheel. For some reason it makes you think of old men in silly hats. [6 coins]

(( OOC: Don't forget to submit your orders for any threads that aren't with the Alchemist or Garfield! The Alchemist and Garfield both have "office hours" now so feel free to reach out to them. The compact functions have also been updated and don't forget activity check!

This week is where the real game begins, so get in your regains and CR while you can. >:3 ))

Yes -- but only a few people out there can do it. I don't know what makes a person have this skill, but I do know it's very uncommon.

[He played the Persona game years ago, and that was just supernatural game nonsense, like anyone does while being in high school. Katsuya is pretty sure that has something to do with this, but...it's a little unsettling to think something he did years ago led to this]
guffawsungraciously: kind of a smile! it's probably about something horrible, but maybe it isn't. (i'm taking a ride with my best friend)

Well, you ought to consider yourself lucky, then. Unless there is some sort of inconvenient drawback to it, of course.

[Sometimes those exist! Otherwise phenomenal cosmic power is great]

Not as far as I know, other than how using magic constantly will tire me out.

[...now that he thinks about it...]

Using physical attacks with it seems to reduce my stamina, though. I doubt that's how efficient magic is supposed to work. What kind of flawed system is this?

[Physical attacks reducing the user's HP, indignant!]
guffawsungraciously: god another kind of neutral look? (do people think it's nicer than mine?)

I am not sure I would consider it that strange, given we can only use so much magic at a time without resting or taking some other measure to replenish our magical energy. Though… hm. If you do not have innate magical reserves the way many people in my world do, perhaps it would have to draw upon your stamina instead.

I'm pretty sure magic in general is a recent thing. I don't know if it's that something changed, or if something beyond my comprehension decided to mess with things, but I'm sure a mere ten years ago it wasn't like that.

[That's urban fantasy, Katsuya! That's how it goes!]
guffawsungraciously: the sort of look that comes with watching something unbelievably stupid actually succeed, to your detriment (are you jangling my chain.)

[personal profile] guffawsungraciously 2022-04-04 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that so? How interesting... it is difficult to imagine a world without magic to begin with for me, much less one where magic only exists after a certain period in time. I would imagine that has brought about a significant amount of change in how society functions, then.

The general public hasn't realized yet, but the wrong people already did. They're already using all they can to change the world to fit their plans.

[Literally. Since rumors become reality, they have spread the right rumors to enable their schemes]
guffawsungraciously: boy does he love playing with his bangs. (are you there?)

Ah, so the worst possible scenario for the common person, as usual.

[...said like he hasn't engineered the same. Well, he doesn't have to be all that invested in the victories and defeats of worlds that aren't his, so he can offer platitudes.]

Well, I suppose you are doing all you can to defeat them, then?
