[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

[No free breakfast again this morning? Fine! Mei will be up early in the kitchen making fish and rice. It's not great or anything, but it's not terrible either, just kind of average. But she'll share if you ask, anyway.

Still, it's time to get working. After that conversation with Loki, Mei will find herself in the armoury, puzzling over all the training swords. She'll pick one up, awkwardly move it around, put it back, and go on to the next one. ...She doesn't really seem to know what she's doing.

In the library later on, you can find her puzzling over her still-unopened motive envelope. She finally opens it, pulls out the photo... and blinks.]

[Mei fumbles her photo. Hubert will see it's a group of girls with their faces in shadow, but strangely enough... well, his only context for a modern school uniform will be Olive, but even so, they don't look like the kind of people a girl who's always in 1800s kimono would have encountered.]

[Stella spends her day fluttering between the library and the training room. In the training room, she can be found carefully twisting light in the palm of her hands, separating strands of color from the light-- as her hands twist, the light does too-- and the color of her blouse continuously shifts. Anyone who enters the room will be granted by a magnificent grin, before she shifts her attention back to her hands.

In the library, Stella has a book that she's very engrossed in. But if anyone gets close enough to her? She'll vanish the book in her hands, so they can't see what she's reading. Then-- she might ask, her voice totally chill--]

[Wu, at this point, is not afraid of snappy voice at all, so here he is, with two plates of cake. Leftovers from the party, stored in the ice box]

Well, since you're asking, I just wanted to deliver some cake to the most gorgeous dame in the place~ [he holds it out to her...is that the red velvet cheesecake?]

Are you trying to ruin my figure? [She sets the invisible book aside. Probably. It's hard to tell. Then she takes the cake.]

I didn't have a sweet tooth, before I started spending time with you. [bc he's so sweet]

That's lovely. [Surprisingly he isn't being sarcastic.] So you create illusions by bending the light around an object?

[She preens with his praise, the smile softening, the rays of light in her hands shimmering, each a dazzling, separate color.]

Yes. Fairies are each only blessed with one specific kind of magic. I'm a light fairy-- I can play with color and invisibility, by bending the light-- either light that already exists, or light that I create.

My mother can create... more elaborate illusions. Like yours. But that's years out of reach.

[Despite what one might think, Zenos actually spends most of his time in the library. He's got a slightly different look today, because Mei gave him his outfit back and like... it's comfortable enough.

He's just reading fiction today. He's focused on the adventure stories, but a few of the smutty titles have made their way into his pile. It's one of the ones he's reading now, with a slightly annoyed look. Considering the cover, it's possible he was expecting... something else.

He'll channel some of that annoyance into staying active in the training room later. The weights aren't quite enough for him, but they'll have to do. He just wants to get his blood flowing. Anyway enjoy the sight of this very buff man without a shirt, because this man is basically all muscle.

...What, he doesn't want to get his clothes all sweaty.]

[Stella almost didn't recognize him at first glance, dressed like that-- but there was only one blonde of that size here.

The way he's leaning with his book makes it easy for her to perch on the other arm of the chair, which she invites herself to, trying to peer over at the interior of the book.]

You've surprised me. I wouldn't suspect you to be the type-- at least-- not in public.

[He doesn't even blink as she does so, just accepting that she's sitting there now.]

...The cover has been very misleading.

[Zenos doesn't even blink, he just keeps at lifting.

[Wu isn't seeking Zenos out specifically. At least, not intentionally. More that he's been wandering, having Some Thoughts. So when he passes by the training room and spots a very very very tall bulk in there, he pauses, moving back into the door frame to get a better view and see if it's who he thinks it is.

And like, of course it is, Wu, who else would it be.

Anyway that uh...wow, Zenos is pretty strong, huh? Not surprising, of course, considering how huge the guy is but Wu is maybe staring for a moment, kind of in awe. How can someone have that much muscle???]

[He doesn't need to see Wu to know there's someone there. He can feel the presence. It isn't anything that matters much to him, at first, but that definitely is staring happening.

...So he pauses, looking over.

Despite taking his shirt off as a precaution, Zenos is barely sweating at all. He's combined weights together and it's still barely anything to him.]

[For most of the day, Somnus was in the training room; with no weapon in hand, he had opted to exercise his own power. This form was different enough that he felt the practice necessary--'diminished' wasn't quite the correct term, but the lack of a massive form wrought of metal made him feel just a little too defenseless for his own liking.]

[He held out one hand, and with a crackling noise like ice forming manifested a shield of blue light shaped like thin crystal. Sometimes it was no more than a small barrier, but on occasion with a little more concentration the light spread like ice to form a half-dome shaped barrier covering his whole height.]

[...It could stand to be worse, he concluded. If things did come to another fight, he'd just have to be a good deal faster the next time.]

His amber eyes catch the unintended demonstration with no short amount of interest. He's never seen anything like it before, that's why. ]

...I'm starting to wonder what other battle techniques you have up your sleeve.

[ After all, Somnus has already shown himself as a talented swordsman. He supposes it is true, in regards to what has been said about it being good to have magical talent with swordplay... ]
