[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

Certainly not -- but I do would like to know why you say there are ghosts around here.

[Indeed, Katsuya doesn't seem upset! But he's skeptical. At least he's not dismissing it as impossible, that's progress compared to how he took things in canon for like the first half of his game, haha]

I don't know for sure if there are or not. That's why I was going to look. I mean, it seems like the kind of place, right?

You do have a point about that -- this could be the kind of place that has restless spirits.

But if there are any, it's likely the Alchemist killed them, or set the situation that led to their deaths.

But that makes it even more important to find them, because maybe we can help them! Or they can help us!

[Now that's an idea. Katsuya gives it some thought, adjusting his sunglasses, and snaps his fingers]

Perhaps one could investigate areas we cannot reach. Given they're intangible, they would be invaluable as our eyes beyond what we can access.

[Surely a ghost wouldn't refuse to help them! Right? Right! Hopefully!]

You have handled spirits before, haven't you? Are you confident you'd be able to convince them to help?

I mean... usually? I can try! There's no reason not to.

True enough, but remember not to get yourself in any trouble. Perhaps do it with someone else, if that won't get in the way of your...skills...

[He's not very convinced one can help when it's about fighting ghosts, so Mei is probably on her own on this one, welp]

I don't think it would. For the past month before this place, I always had somebody help me, even if they couldn't also see anything.

Why do you usually contact ghosts, anyway? What's the use of this skill?

[ghostsguysgyuudon]

Mostly just... because I see them. Sometimes it's hard to tell if I'm the only one seeing something or if it's also there for everybody else. When I was little, I played with ghosts and talked to them all the time.

I hope nobody was giving you a hard time because you could do that.

[You really hear stories and the such about people who can see ghosts and demons and the such getting shunned. Hopefully Mei didn't experience anything like that]

It's fine! I... [She gives an awkward laugh and then sighs.] You're right, atually. but it's no trouble, I just need to put myself out there like I couldn't before. Then maybe it'll be fine.
