[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

I would need to stand vigil over it though. Barriers to keep people in are much, much harder than those designed to keep people out and the further I am from my home the more mana I need to expend to keep it up.

I can only cast a Protect spell with concentration to accomplish the same, regrettably.

...Regardless of what we choose to do, I would like... to spend some time with her once she awakens. Alone if possible.

People don't react like this for no reason. A reaction like this is either born from a deep hatred, an even deeper pain or both. And whatever was in that envelope preyed on that.

She has been a perfectly nice girl in all of my interactions with her thus far. A typical teenager of course, but still no different than many of the young ones in my village. This couldn't have come from nowhere and if I were to wager what it could be I would put my bets on it being from pain. I would like to try to understand, to see if talking with her can help and maybe prevent this from happening again.

It's the very least I must do as an elder.

That's fine. I would do the same.

Then place her somewhere and cast a barrier on the door -- a barrier to keep her out. If it's placed on the door, it should be able to do the same without being a barrier to keep her in. It should give her more space to move in than a barrier to keep her in, and it'd be less effort for you.

Given her actions here I think it's clear to see limiting her contact with anyone she may be able to kill is a necessary move.

That still might not hold. And even if it did, which room? We have our dorms, the storage room, the bathing rooms and the rooms on the third floor - but everyone needs and uses those.

How old did her profile say she was again?

We could use the music room. Compared to many others, that's not strictly essential.

Nineteen... that's still so young.

[ It hurts him honestly. Beastials don't come of age until they're at least 20. For Astral Beasts it's significantly longer than even that. He can't resent what has happened, only feel horrible and try to use his empathy to do what he can to help.

What his beloved would do. What his own guardian would have done. ]

I am choosing to believe that there's a reason all of this set her off, and I would like to try and find out what that is when she wakes up. If she still attempts to attack people then we can figure out what else to do, but I will not treat her like some kind of wild animal without first understanding what kind of state led to this.
