[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

[Stella almost didn't recognize him at first glance, dressed like that-- but there was only one blonde of that size here.

The way he's leaning with his book makes it easy for her to perch on the other arm of the chair, which she invites herself to, trying to peer over at the interior of the book.]

...The cover has been very misleading.

That’s why you’re supposed to read the back of the book, and not just the cover.

[She makes herself comfortable, even leaning in against him so she doesn’t have to strain to read over his shoulder. Even with how large he is, it’s very deliberate.]

How is the romantic tension? [in the book, surely.]

...Dull. The characters involved are exhausting to follow and prose is lacking. How anyone enjoys this is beyond me.

How disappointing. [Well. Since she's here-- she starts to fuss with his hair. Like, how does he even see, with it hanging in his face like that all the time?]

Are the sex scenes at least good, or do they dance around with that, too?

They have yet to get around to it.

If it is anything like the rest of this romance... Well. My expectations are low.

Again, disappointing. What's even the point, if they can't get that right? [She combs it all back out of his face with her fingers, then begins to braid it. When she speaks next, she sounds-- offended?]

It is, isn't it? But it is nice. Not at all what I expected, for such a powerful warrior. [She pauses, and then ties off the braid with her own hair tie.]

How did you fight, with all of it in your face, all of the time?

If one is fully in control of their own movements, it is not difficult to avoid such a distraction.

But you still had to ignore it. Imagine what you could do without ignoring it. [like, come on. She gives the braid a lil tug, pushing it into place, then settles back in against him to continue reading over his shoulder.]

...I find that the challenge adds to the experience.
