[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

[ Azul absolutely makes a beeline for the Entrance Hall early morning on Thursday. Among the packages, he finds his, immediately taking it out of the box with a smile. It seems to be a pen of sorts with a gem inlaid on the front. Wonder what that's all about! Still, after rolling it around in his hand and inspecting it, he looks pretty happy about it.

Later, you can find him in the Storage Room, eyeing up that mysterious locked gate and the door behind it while getting some supplies.

Outside of this, you can find him in the Library, per the norm, scanning some textbooks and the like! ]

Many people have been assaulting the locked doors in the tower. The purple haired woman - the mage - she was attempting to open it by magic, with no success.

[ Well, good to know! ]

Well, I don't imagine we'll be figuring out what lies beyond this door for some time. I'm just a touch curious, is all.

Perhaps it will open in due time. We are to be here for at least a month, or so we have been promised.

Fair enough. Though, I suppose I shouldn't let my curiosity get the better of me. If these next few weeks are full of monotony and there's no cause to open the door, it just means we'll get out of here sooner.

That's a rather fancy looking pen. [He doesn't have any deliveries of his own, but he still likes to watch everyone else open theirs!]

Thank you! It's no mere pen, of course.

[ He smiles as, with a small flourish, some small, purple sparks fly out at the top of the pen wand for a few moments. ]

I was wondering where this ran off to.

Some sort of magical artifact? What does it do?

Indeed! It's my wand. It assists in focusing my magic a bit more, while also doubling as a handy writing utensil.

An interesting thing, a pen that is also a wand. Do you specialize in any sort of magic, or more of a general practitioner?

At the moment I'm learning a variety of different magic, though my best subjects lie in Potionology, Alchemy and my own unique magic.

Ah, just brushing up on a bit of Abjuration. Mostly the protection spells.

That sounds useful! I wonder if I'd be able to learn, since that's my dorm. Though I think that's just because he didn't know where else to put me.

Well, I can't say I know this world's rules on magic, but it doesn't hurt to brush up on it, at least. Perhaps we'll both be surprised.

To tell you the truth, I didn't even know what abjuration was before I got here. But there's a lot of things to learn, after all! Right?

[Nuadha's here to prowl through the snacks he doesn't actually want, but he can't ignore someone else sizing up his nemesis the door.]

Do you have some form of unlocking magic? I've exhausted my methods.

I can't say I have a specific spell for it, but something has to work on this. What did you try exactly, and what were the results? Other than the door remaining locked, that is.

[ The door... it calls to him and he wants to know what's beyond it. ]

I tried a key. ...There's very little to say for the results beyond that. The fit was correct, but it won't open.

[Some force may have been applied. He's starting to take this door pretty personally.]

What spells do you have, then? Perhaps something more concussive.

Perhaps, but it's best to start small. If your key didn't work, then there must be something keeping this closed. Perhaps an enchantment, or a shield.

[ Azul retrieves his wand from his inner suit pocket, and with a small flourish, he sends a very small blast of water magic at the door.

It does indeed, bounce right off. ]

As I thought- there must be something here they don't want us to see as of yet.

Likely to unlock at the Alchemist's leisure. If at all.

[Well, at least the magic bouncing off that door is one more data point. And not the only thing of interest, either. Nuadha glances at the wand with some curiosity.]

Water magic is your specialty?

Well, the one I'm most familiar with, yes, but I can't say it's my specialty by far. I'm well-versed in elemental magics, but water just comes easier to me because of where I grew up.
