[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

[Now, this one, Bruno completely failed to predict!

He rushes over, dropping down to the ground next to Hubert and reaching out to shake his shoulder.]

Hubert? Hey, wake up!

Well, in Bruno's experience - which is pretty good in this realm - sometimes your body's just gonna take sleep when it can get it. At times forcibly! It'd be nice if he were strong enough to bring Hubert somewhere more comfortable, but he super is not. So he just does what the rats do for him occasionally and goes to bring a pillow and blanket, shoving the former underneath Hubert's head and draping the latter over top of him.]

Sorry I can't pick you up. Stone's gotta be even worse than wood for your back. Eh, but you're young, you'll be fine.

[He mumbles at Bruno's words, able to hear him at least a little in his sleep. He curls in on himself like a fetus (or a dead spider) and sleeps for... a little bit.]

[Bruno's not really sure, but eventually he elects to hang out here - he can warn people to be quiet when they come in, if nothing else. He actually just ends up laying on his back on the ground nearby, just kinda vibin'.]

[Bruno startles, but recovers quickly!]

Oh! You're awake! [Now that he is, Bruno looks him over critically.] Have you been eating enough? I know I get like that sometimes if I haven't been eating enough - pretty bad when you spend a lot of time on ladders, heh...

Ugh... it... is possibly a lack of nutrition, yes.

[Bruno frowns, propping himself up on an elbow. Sure, he just said he's been in the same boat before, but that was necessity; there's nothing like that going on here.]

You can eat whatever you need to. There's plenty of food to go around, here.

Plenty of food to be poisoned.

[Bruno has visibly not considered this possibility at all!]

...you could just make your own food. I don't think anybody's going to poison the ingredients, we all use those. Can you cook?

Passably. I've been cooking my own meals but... perhaps I forgot a meal or two.

[Why you gotta call him out like this Bruno? He glares, but it lacks his usual menacing aura due to being exhausted and knowing Bruno is right]

Do you - [He starts rustling around in his ruana.] - want some of these little crackers? They're prepackaged anyway, so...

[Also like. Do you think Bruno's gonna be the guy to poison someone?]

Hey, don't worry about it.

[Bruno produces like, an entire handful of little snack cracker packets and hands them over. You just know he's still got more squirreled away somewhere in there, too.]

[He takes one, delicately opening the package and popping the cracker in his mouth with an... interesting expression.]

It is... saltier than I expected.

Mmm, yeah, they are. The graham ones are sweet, though. Not sure why they're called that, I'm pretty sure it's just sugar and cinnamon.
