week 2
[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.
All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
✨WEEKLY DEALS✨
1. The Cloak of Duplication - An ancient vampiric artifact, when worn it changes your appearance and voice to perfectly mimic another individual of your choosing. (You still have to sell the act, though.) [5 coins] SOLD
2. The Battle Axe of Hatred - A sick as hell electric guitar with an energy that feels like it is powered by the screaming of an ancient and evil lord- or at least once was. It has a signature on the body that simply says "Ron" and looks like it might have been written in blood. [5 coins]
3. The Jable - Put down your keys and stay a while. [2 coins]
✨LEFTOVER STOCK AT 50% MARK-UP✨
1. The Tingler - The whole hand tingles from wearing this ring, as if more blood rushes through the area. [2 coins]
2. Christine Jr. - A tiny red convertible. It's powered by pedals like a bicycle, with a steering wheel. For some reason it makes you think of old men in silly hats. [6 coins]
(( OOC: Don't forget to submit your orders for any threads that aren't with the Alchemist or Garfield! The Alchemist and Garfield both have "office hours" now so feel free to reach out to them. The compact functions have also been updated and don't forget activity check!
This week is where the real game begins, so get in your regains and CR while you can. >:3 ))

Good to know. It's been so long since I had time to bake anything. I was somewhat concerned I was losing my skills.
[When you're a detective and the only breadwinner of the family, you don't get much free time! That and he also intentionally ignores his own wants]

[He's referring to the mousse.]

[He launches into a whole lot of words that pretty much says it's full of citrus. It's not terribly sour, but it does have somewhat of a kick!]
Take some as well if you'd like.
no subject
[Gonna scoop up some of that onto a plate too!]
Ooh, it's a little tart!

[Katsuya seems so proud, glad Bruno enjoys what he can do!]

What would this one's ability be?
[He has to ask, he feels. Bruno is so proud of his family, and Katsuya is attached to his own family too, so he appreciates someone who loves their family so much]

[Bruno shrugs a little. His feelings on that are a lot more mixed; he knows that the gifts aren't always good things. Sometimes it feels like the rest of the family can lose sight of that, even though he also knows perfectly well that a lot of the others have their own drawbacks. They're just...useful, still, in spite of it. That's a trick Bruno could never figure out.]
I know it's been hard for her, not having one, but I think she's what the family really needs. She...actually sees people, you know? With her, it's not just "oh, how did you help the town today? Did you do anything useful?" A-anyway, she's gonna save the miracle and stop the house from falling down, she was just heading off to do that when I ended up here.

That's a lot of responsibility for a teenager. I'd dare say it's as much of a weight on her shoulders as a power is on anybody who has to practice and get better at it.
[Katsuya is definitely underestimating how hard it's for Mirabel to not have a power and also have to save the miracle, yeah]
no subject
Yeah. That was my fault...
no subject
[Whatever Mirabel has to do, it's not like Bruno made her do it, he thinks. Bruno doesn't seem like the kind of person who would get a beloved one into a task they shouldn't do, too]

[Bruno rubs anxiously at one arm. He knows people here must know about his gift - the Alchemist brought it up pretty publicly - but it still makes him nervous to bring it up.]
It would've happened either way! I mean, you can't change the future. But if I hadn't done that, everyone wouldn't have known how it was all up to her - she wouldn't have even known.

[Uf, sounds heavy. Katsuya thinks it for a moment and decides to say:]
True enough, I suppose things would have happened anyway -- but perhaps it wouldn't have been better for her to be unaware. Perhaps by knowing it, she's likelier to succeed.
[Forewarning is good! Or at least Katsuya would like to think that]

[.....]
It happened when she was just five. Imagine if she'd had to grow up with that hanging over her head?
no subject
Do many know about this vision? Have they known for long?
[Bruno makes it sound like people do know, and it didn't go great, it seems]
no subject
Mirabel went and found it - the whole family ended up seeing it a few hours before I ended up here. It went pretty badly. I couldn't tell everything that happened, but Pepa was storming and everyone was yelling...I don't know how it's gonna be when Mirabel goes back.

Nobody can influence how other people react. What people do or don't do in the face of your predictions is something you shouldn't feel guilty about.
[How people react is out of Bruno's control, in his opinion]
