week 2

[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

WEEKLY DEALS
1. The Cloak of Duplication - An ancient vampiric artifact, when worn it changes your appearance and voice to perfectly mimic another individual of your choosing. (You still have to sell the act, though.) [5 coins] SOLD
2. The Battle Axe of Hatred - A sick as hell electric guitar with an energy that feels like it is powered by the screaming of an ancient and evil lord- or at least once was. It has a signature on the body that simply says "Ron" and looks like it might have been written in blood. [5 coins]
3. The Jable - Put down your keys and stay a while. [2 coins]

LEFTOVER STOCK AT 50% MARK-UP
1. The Tingler - The whole hand tingles from wearing this ring, as if more blood rushes through the area. [2 coins]
2. Christine Jr. - A tiny red convertible. It's powered by pedals like a bicycle, with a steering wheel. For some reason it makes you think of old men in silly hats. [6 coins]

(( OOC: Don't forget to submit your orders for any threads that aren't with the Alchemist or Garfield! The Alchemist and Garfield both have "office hours" now so feel free to reach out to them. The compact functions have also been updated and don't forget activity check!

This week is where the real game begins, so get in your regains and CR while you can. >:3 ))

[ ...Felix will just go to lean against a wall, crossing his arms, and listening to the melodious sound of the piano piece.

The sound of music is relaxing, different from the calming effects that arrive after a rather good training session, but welcoming all the same. ]

The academy at Garreg Mach monastery have teachers conduct lessons on a variety of subjects. Magic, Combat, Math, History, and others. Many come to attend from one end of the continent of Fodlan to another due to its popularity.

Ah, I see. It is pretty similar to my school then. Night Raven College is a pretty prestigious school in Twisted Wonderland- though only those who can use magic can attend since that's what the primary schooling is for.

[ He smiles as Felix gets lost in the music seemingly, and he picks out another piece from his memory. ]

We've got a bit of a rivalry with the school on the other side of the island, too.

What kind of magic do you learn there? Reason and Faith magic, or something else entirely?

[ He's got nothing else better to do other than ask questions as he listens to some of the music anyway. ]

A rivalry?
squidproquos: (and get a kiss of true love.)

[personal profile] squidproquos 2022-03-29 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
A whole variety, really. Flight classes, Animal Linguistics, Potionology, Alchemy, Protection, Summoning... The works!

As for the rivalry, Royal Sword Academy has beat our sports teams for quite a while, now. It's so big that the press comes to the games, as well as agents looking for new recruits looking to go pro.
replacementshield: (> [Smartass remark goes here])

[personal profile] replacementshield 2022-03-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
How is potionology different from alchemy?

[ He'd think that maybe they could be the same thing, but he is evidently not an alchemist or a potionologist. ]

...Heh, Royal Sword Academy. Let me guess, they beat your school at combat tactics or fencing or something?

[ Any academy that has 'sword' in it is bound to have some talent in that area because c'mon. ]
squidproquos: (you can go with your beau)

[personal profile] squidproquos 2022-03-30 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Potionology is more or less the overarching subject in potionmaking, like learning what ingredients can be used, and how to properly use them so you don't set the whole building on fire. Alchemy in my world is a branch off of that tree that specializes in transmuting something to another, usually based on science. Like turning lead and wood into a pencil, or a simple stone into gold, for instance.

[ Alchemy is one of his favorite subjects, actually- you picked the best person to talk about it, Felix. ]

And yes- there's a sport we have called Spelldrive. It's one of the only times where people can fling spells at each other with reckless abandon while trying to get a disc through a goal.
replacementshield: (> What's that?)

[personal profile] replacementshield 2022-03-30 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
[ So there is, in fact, a difference. ]

Hm, alright.

[ And okay, THAT he wasn't expecting at all because wow. That sure is a sport! Less swords involved, even, which disappointing, but hey. ]

...That sounds like an easy way to get someone killed.
squidproquos: (I think you ought to take my little deal)

[personal profile] squidproquos 2022-03-30 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I suppose I should clarify- there are rules set in place so no casualties occur. But other than that, you can use various spells, and one person is allowed to use a flying broom.
replacementshield: (> So an idiot walks in... (It's Sylvain))

[personal profile] replacementshield 2022-03-30 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Only one person is allowed on a "flying broom"? That sounds ridiculous, by the way. How does that even work? A wind spell of some kind?
squidproquos: (There's no way to spin it.)

[personal profile] squidproquos 2022-03-30 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's a mix of your own magic and the brooms' magic. They use enchanted wood, and then you have to meet it halfway in order to will yourself to fly... I'm still working on this part myself, to be honest. I know how it works, but.

[ He's... he's not good at flying. It's Azul's Achilles heel. Fish don't fly- he only gets like two feet off the ground normally. ]

The flying portion still eludes me.
replacementshield: (> Glance)

[personal profile] replacementshield 2022-03-31 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
...Sounds like high-level magic to me.

[ Because, yeah. Definitely don't have flying brooms back in his world. Yet. ]

Kind of a disappointment there doesn't seem to be fencing competition going on against an academy that has 'sword' in its name, but it's whatever.
squidproquos: (Yes I do.)

[personal profile] squidproquos 2022-03-31 09:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, there's other sports, but Spelldrive is the one they really hone in on. I'm sure they've had their fair share of fencing tournaments.

[ Azul doesn't really pay much attention to it because he doesn't do sports. ]
replacementshield: (> So an idiot walks in... (It's Sylvain))

[personal profile] replacementshield 2022-04-01 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
If it's more popular, I guess I could understand.

[ Felix doesn't know the other's world so well, so he considers the idea wouldn't be surprising considering that things seem to be different there. ]
squidproquos: (repented)

[personal profile] squidproquos 2022-04-01 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed! I'm sure they have classes for sword fighting over there- I just haven't made it a point to look too in-depth into a school I don't go to.
replacementshield: (> Hm)

[personal profile] replacementshield 2022-04-01 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Makes sense. Besides, you don't quite seem the type to wield a sword either.

[ He hasn't seen him run around wielding one, and he doesn't exactly seem to have the build of a swordsman. Though some things can be still missable. ]
squidproquos: (seen the light)

[personal profile] squidproquos 2022-04-04 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, fair enough.

[ True enough, he's not much of a swordsman. You can't really tell because of the suit, but he has more of a swimmer's build! ]

I much prefer battles of wits and words rather than steel, anyways.
