[One week down and (if the Alchemist's promise is to be believed) just three more to go. In the past week royalty has been bullied, explicitly non-Satanic chairs were ordered and you began the pact-bonding process with your new proprietor of mercantile wares, ✨Garfield the Deals Warlock✨.

All in all, a surprisingly good week despite the kidnapping and looming threat of death. We'll see how long that lasts.

2. The Battle Axe of Hatred - A sick as hell electric guitar with an energy that feels like it is powered by the screaming of an ancient and evil lord- or at least once was. It has a signature on the body that simply says "Ron" and looks like it might have been written in blood. [5 coins]

[Jasper hasn't received any special orders, though he did get one of those super special blind boxes waiting for him in the entrance hall! ...despite his better judgment!

He's going to hold it up to his head and shake it a bit to try and hear if there are... any... little rat-sounding sounds in there. Whenever he hears nothing, he goes ahead and opens the box to find... well. Initially, it's just some junk, but once he sees The Orb he pauses.

...and just kind of laughs in perhaps a not particularly heroic way.

Well, because of that, he's feeling pretty good for the rest of the day; he looks positively cheerful as he heads into the storage room to get some goshdarned celebratory candy! And maybe some other snacks, he's definitely giving the little packages an analytical look. He is not humming, necessarily, but he just might. Even though he doesn't have any immediate plans for the thing, he's still feeling good... for a while, anyway.

A little later in the evening, he's hanging out in the library, seriously pondering something! Not his orb, surprisingly, but a pendant. If he catches anyone staring he's going to pocket it in a hurry, but he might not notice right away...]

[Mei looks over all her garbage from her own box, but pauses to blink at Jasper.]

Oh, you got something you were happy with?

Yes, I would say so. If only we could all be so lucky—but I suppose I will settle for being satisfied with this.

Ah, no, it is far more useful than that. It is a magical artifact, though I do not know quite how useful it will be here.

I guess not. Sorry, I just thought that was what we were doing. I mean, with what happened after he handed the envelopes out, and Finn-san told me I should stop hiding the time travel thing last week.

[Mei gulps and wrings her hands.] I told him people would think it was weird. That's why I didn't say anything.

Well, I suppose it is not all that strange given everything else going on. It is just a bit much to have dropped on you casually.

Sorry! I didn't really know how else to bring it up. [She picks at a loose string on her kimono sleeve.] The truth is, I know I dress like I'm from a long time ago, but I'm actually from around the kind of time Olive-san or Stella-san would know. Somebody sent me to the past, just like the Alchemist took us all and brought us here.

...ah. Honestly, I would not have assumed anything particularly strange about your attire, temporally. You simply look as though you are from Hotto or the like. Do you know how that happened, or is that a mystery you are attempting to unravel?

It wasn't the Alchemist, I know that. It was somebody else, a magician who appeared one day. He said he could send me back after a month, if I still wanted to return to the future.

So it was more of a surprise vacation to the past than a kidnapping, then? That sounds considerably more pleasant than whatever this is.

[ Oh, he's peeking! Azul is standing at a nearby shelf, and he can't help but to notice when something shiny is in his presence. He's pretending to make himself busy by scanning the titles for something to read. ]

[Well, he hasn't noticed yet! So he's still staring and thinking pretty hard.

[ Azul's utterly curious. But before he does anything else he carefully takes out his transmitter and, while casting a small silence spell around it, tries to stealthily take a "selfie," trying to get a decent picture of Jasper holding the pendant in the corner of the shot while he's distracted. The silence spell was there just to make sure no shutter sound goes off. ]

Ah, of course. Admittedly, I got the idea from seeing Stella around snapping photos. I thought I'd give it a try.

It seem far more convenient than sitting for a portrait, though I do feel as though the fact that you need to hold it limits the sorts of stances you can take.
